Pointed Head Tower
2 Story Enclosed Tower

The Pointed Head Tower has a lower level 20 ft square at the base.  These towers make a handy solution to storing just about anyting.  It is not designed for storing water. It can be used as a shop, garage, residential or agricultural use.  It can also be custom designed for 3 stories.

The intermediate level is about 16 ft square.  The main tower is built of 2x6's for exterior studs.  The interior first floor is concrete and the upper floor is buildt with plywood, 2x12 joists and gypsum board.  The walls are 2x6's with plywood, insulation and gypsum board.  The exterior has 1x siding over water proof membrane.  Other surfaces like wood shingles can also be used.  There is also a wooden exterior stair at the perimeter.

The Enclosed Water Towers are designed to the new 2008 International Building Code for 80 mph winds and seismic zone 4 requirements for California, the most stringent.  All plans are signed by a licensed California Structural Engineer or Architect.

Before You Buy:  Before buying or trying to build from these plans, be sure to check with your local Building Department Jurisdiction to verify acceptance of the plans, whether a permit is needed and whether a local engineer or architect needs to sign them.  Also check your zoning regulations to see if this type of building of this height is allowed on your property.  There are often, use, height or property set back limits that need to be addressed.  Design is based on having a suitable firm soil material to build the foundation, verify type of soil before building.

You'll get 4 sets of blueprints of all the drawings and 2 sets of the structural calculations.  This is normally enough for building departments.  They will return one set of each back to your.  Additional set are available at blueprinting costs.
