The Lookout Towers vary between 10' to 20' at the base and 12' to 40 ft' in height. The main towers are built of 6x6's or 8x8's for posts and  braces.  Upper platform is built with 4x joists and 2x decking. If you just want an observation tower, you don't need a tank, just a handrail.  The tower can, however, be designed to hold water tanks up to 2,000 gal.  If you would like to Enclose the Tower, you can add intermediate floors and create usable spaces.   

The Water Towers are designed to the new 2008 International Building Code for 80 mph winds and seismic zone 4 requirements for California, the most stringent.  All plans are signed by a licensed California Structural Engineer or Architect.

When you are sure this tower is for you, you'll get the following:

You'll get 4 sets of blueprints of all the drawings and 2 sets of the structural calculations.  This is normally enough for building departments.  They will return one set of each back to your.  Additional set are available at blueprinting costs.
