Towers Any Size, Shape or Material
Click Here for informatin on Tower Design Components
Custom Designed Towers make for unique forms for any sort of use. Many people here in rural Northern California utilize towers for living facilities or studios. If you visit Mendocino, Napa or Sonoma Counties, you'll see lots of shops, inns and studios occupying these towers. You can build a main tower and add a wing off the side. You can also add decks or stairs. You can add skylights and an observation deck if you like. They can be designed to any size floor plan or any height permissible by local building codes. They can be designed to hold water or not.
Water supporting towers will utilize 6x6's for posts and braces with infill walls (8x's on larger 3 story and 4 story towers). When not supporting water, they can be built with 2x studs and joists. They can be designed to set on piers or a concrete slab at the first floor. The walls can be finished with any sort of interior finish or exterior material.
The Custom Water Towers are designed to the new 2007 International Building Code for 85 mph winds and seismic site class D requirements for California, the most stringent. All plans are signed by a licensed California Structural Engineer or Architect. Also licensed in the state of Washington.
Before You Buy: Before buying or trying to build from these plans, be sure to check with your local Building Department Jurisdiction to verify acceptance of the plans, whether a permit is needed and whether a local engineer or architect needs to sign them. Also check your zoning regulations to see if this type of building of this height is allowed on your property. There are often, use, height or property set back limits that need to be addressed. Design is based on having a suitable firm soil material to build the foundation, verify type of soil before building. For a more detailed explaination See Building Code & Geologic Notes.
