This is not an historic tower but it is very nicely done and replicates the original towers very closely.  This is not a real tower but was a prop that Hollywood built when they filmed the movie "Dying Young" here in Mendocino.  It stayed here for many years but was eventually town down for safety reasons.  It had no foundation and was not supposed to be a permanent building.  You can find it on the headlands on Main St. just behind the Ford House Museum.
